RBA (formerly EICC) Labor & Ethics Lead Auditor Training Course (CQI – IRCA certified course 1749)
This course provides the competencies necessary to successfully perform Responsible Business Alliance (RBA – formerly EICC) Validated Audit Process (VAP) audits.
The highly interactive five-day workshop covers social systems auditing, investigative skills, management systems, validation, and reporting as well as the RBA Validated Audit Process.
The course includes an online self-study module covering the background and context of the RBA program, common labor issues, compliance and legal standards, and other knowledge content.
Successful completion of this course fulfills the training requirement of CQI – IRCA (Chartered Quality Institute – International Register of Certificated Auditors) for certifying labor and ethics auditors as RBA Labor & Ethics Lead Auditors (CQI – IRCA certified course 1749). The workshops are facilitated by expert trainers and former and current RBA auditors.

Who is the course designed for?
The course is required for third party auditors who wish to perform Validated Audits on behalf of RBA. It is strongly recommended for auditors of member companies who perform RBA audits of their own operations or those of their suppliers.

In what language is the course conducted?
The courses held at Verité China in Shenzhen are conducted in Mandarin. All other course offerings are conducted in English. For all classes, the online pre-course and final IRCA written exam are in English.
Where is the training held?
China-based trainings are held at Verité offices in Shenzhen. For other locations, trainings are held at hosting members’ facilities or at a hotel venue arranged by Verité. Locations chosen are convenient to airports, public transportation, and hotel accommodations.
Are accommodations provided?
No. Hotel recommendations are provided, but arrangements and payments are the responsibility of the participants. Lunch and snacks are provided each day of the training.
What time do the classes start and finish? I need to make travel arrangements.
Classes typically run from 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday thru Thursday. On Friday, the class begins at 8:30am, and the exam begins after lunch. Students are generally done between 4 – 4:30pm.
May I register on behalf of someone else or for a group of people?
You may register for multiple attendees at the same time. Please add the number of registrations needed to your cart and in the NOTES section please be sure to include the names and email addresses for each attendee.
In what currency are the prices listed for trainings?
All prices for trainings are listed in USD.
Are discounts available?
We offer up to two waived training fees for companies that host a training. Host duties include providing training rooms, equipment, and snacks/lunch. Please contact us if you would be interested in hosting a training.
What do I need to do after I register?
Nothing! Once we receive your registration order, we’ll be in touch to furnish relevant class materials. (You should expect a response from us within three business days; if you do not hear from us in that time frame, please contact us.)
If you’re paying by wire transfer, we will send you an invoice with bank wire instructions. You will be considered fully registered once your payment has been received.
If you’re paying by check, please mail it to our Amherst office. You will be considered fully registered once your check has been received.
When you are fully registered, you will be granted access to the online e-course.
What happens if a course is postponed/canceled?
Occasionally due to low enrollment or unanticipated/unforeseen factors, we need to postpone or cancel a scheduled offering. This decision is made at least two weeks prior to the course start. Registered students are given the option of receiving a full refund or applying the fee to a future course.
Why do I have to take this course to be certified as an RBA Labor and Ethics Lead Auditor?
The RBA has contracted with IRCA to establish and manage the certification program for RBA auditors. All IRCA certifications include standard requirements for auditor training, education, work experience and auditing experience. The auditor training requirement is satisfied by attending an IRCA-approved course. The RBA Labor & Ethics Lead Auditor Course is the IRCA-approved course for RBA auditor certification.
How do I become certified as an IRCA auditor?
There are additional requirements beyond successfully completing the course to become certified. Information is provided to students at the end of the course and can also be found at www.irca.org.
What is required to pass the course?
To earn a Certificate of Successful completion you must pass all three components of the course. The Online Score is worth 30%, the Continuous Assessment (CA) Score determined during the live workshop is worth 40%, and the Final Examination Score is worth 30% of your Total Score. A score of 70% or higher is considered passing.
