Jon Pitoniak oversees delivery of workplace assessment and audit reports, and is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and detail of Verité’s assessment work and related written material. He is an active participant in the ongoing development of Verité’s work for the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and expansion of the organization’s agricultural work, both in tool and assessment model development. Jon has also assisted Verité’s government grant activities and research, and regularly coordinates the development of new farm and manufacturing assessment and reporting tools. He assists Verité’s clients in their remediation efforts at the factory level, coordinates communication with the organization’s field offices, and provides research data gathered from Verité’s extensive experience conducting workplace assessments and consultations. Jon is further developing database tools and information sharing mechanisms to enhance the utilization of Verite’s substantial data and findings on workplace conditions worldwide. Jon has studied, lived, and worked in China, and triesd to keep up with his Chinese as much as he can. He holds a double B.A. in Government and East Asian Studies from Bowdoin College, and is (slowly!) finishing an M.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
