Debra Hertz

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  

Debra is responsible for the administration of Verité’s grant funded initiatives.  These projects, funded through numerous government or private foundation sources, cover a broad range of labor and corporate social responsibility topics.  Debra coordinates the grant-seeking process from project conception to contracting and throughout project implementation.  She develops and manages the expenditure of funds and reports to funders on the progress of multi-year research-, training- and supplier-related initiatives.  She brings extensive knowledge of both grant-seeking and project management.


Purpose  

Furthering Verité's cause to help workers around the world through the implementation of innovative, multi-year initiatives which increase knowledge about labor rights and further socially responsible business practices.

Background  

Debra has worked as Verité’s Grant Manager since 2003.  Prior to that Debra held senior management positions at several other private non-profit organizations. She has a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts.
