Verité Issue Reports look in-depth at key aspects of labor practices of interest to investors, manufacturers, researchers and NGOs. Issue Reports are available on:

  • Excessive Overtime in Chinese Supplier Factories: Causes, Impacts, and Recommendations for Action
    Workers in China consistently suffer from abuses of both Chinese law and the internal codes of corporate brands who source there. The report is the first that presents the perspectives of Chinese workers themselves on the physical and social impacts of the long hours that they work producing goods for the global economy. It also includes findings from Verité’s workshops in which global brands and government authorities came together to discuss the problem of excessive overtime. Verité’s goal in releasing the report is to provide a more accurate picture of the problems faced by Chinese factory workers, and to contribute solutions.
