Workplace Assessment
Verité social and environmental auditing programs are known for the high credibility of our findings and the value of our recommendations. Confidential worker interviewing is key to the quality and value of our process and to identifying areas of risk and opportunities. Information from management interviews, document review, and visual inspection are verified against worker interviews.
Workers' information enables auditors to understand conditions on the factory floor from a key stakeholder perspective often missing in factory assessments. In Verité's analysis, almost fifty percent of the verifying data needed to confirm compliance with company CSR standards is derived from worker discussions.
Comprehensive Labor and Health & Safety Compliance Audit
Our comprehensive factory evaluations establish a baseline for benchmarking Code requirements and Verité best practice standards against actual factory conditions. The assessments incorporate extensive on-site investigation with state-of-the-art worker interviews, detailed analysis and verification.
The on-site phase of the evaluation incorporates a management interview, inspection of the physical plant, collection of documents and on-site worker interviews. This typically takes one to two days, depending on the size of the facility. The on-site phase concludes with on-site management debriefing to address verified findings in such a way that does not compromise the safety of workers who have provided information to auditors.
Data collected during the on-site phase is analyzed in combination with information derived during an off-site phase, which comprises off-site worker interviews, analysis of payroll and other documents, and analysis of local law and the client’s Code of Conduct.
Findings from all aspects of the audit are fact-checked and integrated into a next-steps Corrective Action Report (CAR) which serves as the basis for Management Action Planning with the factory. Service options include:
- Baseline Assessment
- Remediation Check-up
- Re-Audit
